Stimming Log & Function Worksheet

Stimming is regulation, not a symptom — map function, protect safe stims

Affirming, not corrective

The worksheets here operate from the neurodiversity-affirming stance: autism is a profile, not a problem to fix. The clinical work is regulation, self-recognition, and building a life that matches the sensory and social architecture the client actually has — not one they've been masking through.

Masking is treated as an adaptation that costs energy, not a flaw. Stimming is treated as regulation, not behavior to extinguish. Sensory profiles are mapped and honored. Social battery is planned around, not moralized about.

A typical sequence

For newly diagnosed or late-identified adults, start with the Late Diagnosis Integration worksheet and the Masking & Unmasking worksheet — those two often reframe the client's entire history in one session. Add the Autistic Burnout Recovery Plan when the presentation is exhaustion, shutdown, or loss of previously-available skills.

For daily regulation, use the Adult Sensory Diet, Stimming Log, and Sensory Regulation Worksheet. For interoceptive gaps, the Neuroception Log rebuilds the internal signal set. For pacing, the Social Battery and Energy Budget worksheets externalize what neurotypical models under-weight. Transitions, decision fatigue, and RSD-adjacent shame cycles are shared with ADHD tooling and pair cleanly for AuDHD clients.
