Somatic Anger Mobilization

Completing the mobilization impulse

TherapistAssist logo

Anger is a mobilization energy that often has nowhere to go. Somatic completion — push, kick, growl — lets the impulse finish so it doesn't stay stuck as tension or numbness.

Practice (private space, 3–10 min)
  • Push palms into wall — full body pressure
  • Slow controlled growl on exhale
  • Kick a pillow, wrapped in a blanket
  • Bite a rolled towel and pull
  • End with slow orienting to room

Not venting AT anyone

Somatic anger practice is about completing the physical impulse — never directed at a person, never in front of children or pets.
