Start from the reaction, not the theory
Projection is the fastest route to shadow material: strong dislike that outruns the situation usually marks something disowned. Five rows, each starting from a real reaction rather than from theory.

Not everything is projection
Some people really are behaving badly, and naming projection is not a reason to tolerate harm. Use the proportion question: does the intensity match the event? If it does, it is a boundary issue, not shadow work.
