Pain Flare Response Plan

A shorter bad week, not a failure

TherapistAssist logo

Flares are part of chronic pain, not a failure. A written flare plan removes the panic and turns a bad week into a shorter one.

Signs a flare is starting (body, mood, sleep, cognition)
What I'll do less of for the next 24–72 hours
Small comforts that reliably help (heat, position, music, meds, contact)
Who I'll tell so I don't disappear
What I'll say to myself instead of 'I'm failing'
Return-to-baseline plan (slow, over days, not one big day)
