Fawn Response Boundary Scripts
Written calm, read while appeasing

Boundaries fail for appeasers not because the words are unknown but because they are unavailable when the nervous system is already appeasing. Write them here, calm, so they can be read later, activated.
Buying time
- “Let me check and come back to you.”
- “I need to think about that.”
- “I can’t answer that right now.”
Declining without justifying
- “That doesn’t work for me.”
- “I’m not able to take that on.”
- “No — but thank you for asking.”

Guilt is not evidence
For someone who learned to appease, holding a boundary reliably produces guilt and a sense of danger. That feeling is the old alarm, not a signal that the boundary was wrong. Predict it, name it, and let it pass without reversing the decision.
