Family Meal Debrief
The 5-minute structured after-meal review

For families in FBT or supporting an adult in recovery, the meal is only half the work — the debrief after is where course-corrections happen. This one-page debrief keeps it structured, brief, and blame-free.
Meal / date
Who was at the table
Prescribed portion — completed?
Time at the table (start / end)
What went well
Where it got stuck (bargaining, delaying, hiding, dissociating, rage)
What helped move it forward
What we'll try differently at the next meal
What we need from the clinician / RD before then
Debrief the meal, not the person
Language matters: 'that meal was hard' not 'you were hard.' The disorder is the problem being managed. The person is the one you're on a team with.
