Hypomania feels good — that's the trap. The interventions that stop it from becoming mania have to happen when you least want them.
Signs I'm going up
- Sleep dropping below 7 hours and I feel fine
- Racing thoughts / talking faster
- New ideas, new plans, new projects
- Increased spending or online orders
- Increased libido, texts, DMs
- Irritability with people who slow me down
My pre-agreed brakes
- PRN medication as prescribed
- Sleep protocol — no exceptions, meds if needed
- Cards / online purchases handed to a trusted person
- Driving restrictions
- No new commitments for 2 weeks
- Therapist / prescriber contact within 24 hours
