Not 'is it true' — is it working?

What it costs me (short-term, long-term)
What it buys me (be honest — it does something or you'd have stopped)
Toward what values does it move me?
Away from what values does it move me?

Workability, not truth

A thought can be 'true' and still not workable. The question is whether the whole package moves you toward or away from your values.
