Common questions

What age is this anger activity best for?

It's designed for kids ages 6–10, but older children and neurodivergent kids who like visual metaphors often enjoy it too. The 'volcano' externalizes anger in a way that's much easier to talk about than abstract feelings.

How do counselors and therapists use this with kids?

Therapists use it as a session warm-up to teach the early warning signs of dysregulation, or as a debrief tool after a meltdown to non-judgmentally explore what filled the volcano. It pairs naturally with CBT and zones-of-regulation curricula.

Is this free to use at home or in the classroom?

Yes — every kids activity on TherapistAssist is free to use with children, students, and clients. No login or download required.
