Window of Tolerance

The 'window' is where you can think and feel at the same time. Above it: too much. Below it: too little. The goal is to know where you are, then nudge back in.

Where are you right now?

Pick the one that fits closest. You're not wrong — and you can change your mind in a minute.

Why this matters
You can't think your way out of a nervous system that's above or below the window. The body has to come back first. These moves work because they speak the body's language — temperature, pressure, breath, movement.
Where it comes from
The window of tolerance is a concept from Dan Siegel, used widely in trauma-informed therapy. Your window can be narrow today and wider next month — it stretches with practice.
