Somatic Resource Library
Places, people, objects, movements that bring even a little okay-ness

Before processing anything hard, the nervous system needs places to land. A resource is anything that brings even a small sense of okay-ness in the body. Build the list now — not in the middle of the storm.
Places
A room, a corner, a beach, a chair — anywhere your body has felt 'I can be here.'
People & beings
A person, a pet, an ancestor, a teacher, even a fictional character.
Objects
Something you can touch — a stone, a scarf, a mug, a piece of jewelry.
Movements
Walking, swimming, dancing, kneading dough — something the body knows by heart.
Sounds & music
A song, a voice, rain, a particular silence.
Words & phrases
A prayer, a line, a name. Something that lands when you say it.
Try this
- Pick one resource from your list. Close your eyes if it's safe to.
- Bring it vividly to mind — the colors, the smells, the feel of it.
- Notice what happens in your body. A softening? An ease? A warm spot? Stay with it for three slow breaths.
- Open your eyes. Look around the room. You can return here anytime.
